Carbon Reduction Plan
- This Carbon Reduction Plan explains how Valiant Systems Group Limited (“VSG”) is working to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across our operations and value chain. It is written for publication on our website and for use by clients, partners and suppliers.
- As a technology and cybersecurity services provider, our most material emissions are typically associated with purchased electricity, business travel, employee commuting, and the goods and services we buy (including IT hardware and cloud services).
Organisation details
- Legal name: Valiant Systems Group Limited (“VSG”)
- Company number: 16072925
- Registered address: Unit 7 Norcroft Industrial Estate, Norcroft Street, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD7 1JA, United Kingdom
- Services: Managed IT, cybersecurity, SOC and cloud services
- Geographic scope: United Kingdom operations (unless stated otherwise)

Our commitment
- VSG is committed to reducing our environmental impact through practical, measurable actions. We will:
- measure and manage our emissions using a recognised approach aligned to the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol;
- prioritise emission reductions through efficiency and responsible procurement before considering offsetting;
- promote remote-first delivery where secure and appropriate to reduce avoidable travel;
- work with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to improving sustainability; and
- review progress at least annually and keep this plan up to date.
Reporting boundary and approach
- We categorise emissions as follows:
- Scope 1 (direct): emissions from sources owned or controlled by VSG (for example, fuel used in company vehicles if applicable).
- Scope 2 (indirect): emissions from purchased electricity used in VSG premises.
- Scope 3 (value chain): other indirect emissions such as business travel, employee commuting, waste, purchased goods and services, and upstream cloud and supplier activities.
- Our approach to measurement is designed to be accurate and auditable:
- Activity data sources: utility invoices/meter readings, mileage logs, travel receipts, supplier invoices, and asset records.
- Calculation method: use of appropriate UK conversion factors and standard emissions methodologies, with a documented audit trail.
- Review: annual review of data quality and boundary changes as the business grows.
Baseline and current emissions position
- VSG is establishing a quantified baseline footprint to support transparent reporting and year‑on‑year comparison. Because we are a growing business and our operating model is increasingly cloud‑enabled, our emissions profile can change as headcount, client delivery patterns, and supplier services evolve.
Baseline year
- Baseline year selected: 01 April 2025 to 31 March 2026 (first full reporting period aligned to our operational maturity).
- Boundary: UK operations and activities directly associated with VSG service delivery and administration.
- Scope coverage at baseline: Scope 2 and priority Scope 3 categories (business travel, employee commuting, purchased IT hardware, and waste). Scope 1 will be included where applicable.
Current emissions disclosure
- We will publish our first quantified baseline and current‑year emissions summary once our activity data capture and verification is complete. Until that publication, VSG will not make public numeric claims about tCO2e totals to avoid misstatement. Clients who require a formal Carbon Reduction Plan for procurement purposes can request an updated, quantified version from us.

Carbon reduction targets
- VSG uses clear operational targets that do not rely on unverified emissions estimates. Our targets are:
- Renewable electricity: procure electricity for VSG-controlled premises from a renewable tariff where available, and maintain evidence of the tariff or supplier disclosure.
- Remote-first delivery: increase the proportion of client support and project delivery performed remotely where security and service quality allow, reducing avoidable travel.
- Low-carbon travel: where travel is necessary, prioritise rail/public transport and reduce short-notice, high-emission travel where feasible.
- Efficient IT: prioritise energy-efficient endpoints and extend device life through secure maintenance and reuse where appropriate.
- Responsible disposal: ensure all end-of-life equipment is processed through WEEE-compliant recycling and secure data destruction channels.
Quantified targets (to be published alongside baseline)
- Once baseline calculations are published, we will add quantified reduction targets (e.g., percentage reductions for Scope 2 electricity and travel‑related Scope 3 emissions) and report progress annually.
Measures we are implementing
- We are taking practical steps aligned to how an MSP and cybersecurity provider operates:
Energy and office operations
- Apply power management policies for laptops and office equipment (sleep/hibernate schedules and automatic updates outside peak times where possible).
- Reduce unnecessary printing and paper usage through digital-first processes and e-signatures.
- Prefer suppliers that provide energy and emissions disclosures for facilities and hosted services where available.
Service delivery and travel
- Secure remote support as default, with on-site visits reserved for tasks that genuinely require physical presence.
- Client onboarding and support processes designed to minimise travel without compromising security or service standards.
- Travel planning to prioritise lower-carbon options and sensible scheduling.
IT assets and procurement
- Procure energy-efficient devices where feasible, considering durability, repairability and lifecycle impact.
- Extend asset life through proactive patching, secure configuration, and maintenance.
- Reuse and redeploy devices where appropriate and secure, with verified data wiping for any device leaving VSG control.
- Engage key suppliers on sustainability and request relevant environmental information where available.
Waste and recycling
- Use WEEE-compliant partners for disposal of electronic equipment.
- Ensure secure destruction of storage media and documented chain of custody for end-of-life assets.
Governance and continual improvement
- Leadership accountability: sustainability actions are overseen at Director level.
- Annual review of this plan and the supporting evidence behind any published metrics.
- Staff awareness: practical guidance on energy-saving behaviours, travel choices, and responsible IT usage.
Monitoring and review
- We monitor progress through simple, repeatable controls:
- Quarterly capture of key activity data (electricity usage where available, travel/mileage, asset purchase and disposal records).
- Annual review of supplier sustainability information for major service components (hosting/cloud/security tooling).
- Annual refresh of targets and initiatives based on measured data and operational changes.
Supporting clients
- Where appropriate, VSG supports clients by enabling more efficient and lower‑carbon IT operations, including:
- secure remote working and collaboration to reduce travel;
- cloud and identity architecture choices that improve efficiency and resilience;
- secure lifecycle management and decommissioning to reduce waste; and
- operational security practices that reduce avoidable rework and inefficiency (visibility, patching and configuration management).
Declaration and approval
- This Carbon Reduction Plan has been approved by the Director of Valiant Systems Group Limited. It will be reviewed at least annually and updated as our data maturity improves.
